The more books I give to my students (and the more choice that they have in reading them) the likelier they are to find a book that they enjoy. This is why I would like to give my students high interest and accessible literature circle books that they can enjoy reading together. I've included books like Esperanza Rising, Fever 1793, Fallen Angels, and more in the hopes of my students finding a book that they want to read. We can use these books as a jumping point for nonfiction articles, as well and culminate in a group project where students can work together to show their learning.
