STEM activities are fabulous for second grade students! They will not only learn about individual projects, but develop questioning, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills. My students will work in pairs to research, design, and build; it will be the highlight of their week!The engaging building centers will teach my students to look closer at real-life designs, and make original structures that use the same important elements! My students will use the Design & Build Centers, Magna-Tiles, and Straw Constructor STEM Building Toys weekly in my classroom. The STEM stories will be read aloud to students. The stories are about problem solvers and inventors that will help to motivate children to get creative and think critically! Inside the pages of these books, children will find a colorful introduction to the world of STEM thinking. Inspiring characters will spark children’s curiosity…and get them excited to solve problems too.
