Students will be able to know the basic concepts related to the Silk Road; recite the goods traded along the Silk Road, how the merchants traveled and the essential elements of a travel itinerary in Mandarin; list the names of the three most important cities along the Silk Road in Mandarin; describe the sequence of a series of actionsin Mandarin; pronounce and write related characters correctly; make and present their travel brochure/ PPT to promote a city along the Silk Road. The unit project will be a performance task: Travel Exhibition. Students will act as travel agencies and work in groups to create a travel brochure and a google slides to promote their chosen city and travel itinerary. Interpretive: Travel Brochure and Google Slides Creation Students will choose a city along the Silk Road and create a travel brochure and a google slides to promote their chosen city and travel itinerary. Presentational: Travel Agency Presentation Students will introduce their chosen city and travel itinerary by slide show and travel brochure. Interpersonal: Q&A Session Students will act as travel agents to answer clients’ questions.
