Through this project, I want to develop my students’ understanding for financial literacy and end the unit on a fun note! The unit will begin with several lessons purchased from Teachers Pay Teachers. Those lessons are Balancing a Budget, Financial Literacy Unit: Things Students Should Know Before they Graduate, and Consumer Math & Financial Literacy- Credit Card Project. Students will complete the unit with a task that emulates a real life scenario in which they find themselves attending a concert. Students will research the venue, ticket prices, hotel, travel and parking. To celebrate we will end with a karaoke party! The focus of this unit is to show our students that having novel enjoyable experiences is something they can achieve, both by themselves and with friends, but also to be mindful of spending as one can get carried away.
