Learning a second language is an important skill in today's world. In order to provide my students with the best opportunity to learn Spanish, I want to create an authentic language learning environment where they will feel safe to take the necessary risks required to acquire a second language. Many of my students have unique learning needs that require an environment that is suited to those needs including physical and social emotional supports. I am requesting flexible seating options such as sit to stand desks, bean bag chairs, wobble stools, and therapy ball chairs. All language classrooms need a class set of quality dictionaries therefore I am requesting Spanish-English dictionaries. A document camera will allow my students to show their work in real time as well as facilitate instructions for assignments. A quality easel whiteboard will allow me to provide visual support for students to facilitate language acquisition. I'm certain that with the right resources, my students will gain the benefits of being bilingual, which will open doors for them, leading to exciting life experiences they never would have dreamed of!
