My students love designing and building catapults, mousetrap cars, straw rollercoasters, heat shields, and other ideas they have for projects. They are learning science skills by going through the engineering design process. With the new engineering library and basic supplies like glue sticks, straws, duct tape, popsicle sticks and a Box O' Balsa Model Kit, students will have the materials they need to meet the engineering challenges head on, all year. My hope is that they will develop a deep love of science, engineering, and design. I want them to think of themselves as inventors and creators who are capable of solving problems that are presented to them and problems that they find themselves.

About my class
