These iPads would be used to help my ELLs with literacy skills. Many of the students I am working with are newcomer ELLs whose literacy skills are far below grade level. I would like them to be able to listen to and/or read along with books either in English or in their home language during independent reading time so they can showcase their knowledge in an alternative way. These iPads would ease the translanguaging process and reinforce the students confidence in their abilities, reminding them that although they are newcomers to English their native language skills are an important attribute which can five them access to grade-level content standards. When students have access to high interest reading materials they are more likely to be actively engaged in the content which makes them ultimately more successful! Please help my bright, ambitious students maximize their learning potential by giving them the gift of literacy at the touch of a button. Thank you for your support!
