If my project is fully funded, my students will be able to read books that are appropriate for their individual reading levels, and experience new stories and adventures on their own. Currently in our classroom, we have a very small selection of texts. These books are not all appropriately leveled for the students in my classroom, which means that for many of my students the books are either too easy, or too hard. I love to set my students up with bins that they can fill with books of their choice, and they are so excited about having access to books! The leveled book sets in this project would provide my kids with books that they can actually read, so that when they pick out their books they will be picking stories that they can read on their own. This project will provide them with leveled texts that will help them grow as readers. They will also be able to engage in technology education and literacy through access to educational literacy applications on the tablets. These can also be used to provide me with more data about their development as readers.
