Upon entering the classroom, my preschool students with various special needs, will feel a sense of importance and belonging, having their own space for their coat and pack to hang up on as well as a cubby to place their completed projects in. This cubby unit will help my students develop their self-help skills as they care for their own items as well a sense of responsibility as they take care of their daily projects. As a teacher, I will be able to monitor my students following directions, using their motor skills to hang their items and and how they interact and socialize with their peers as they enter this area. These self-help skills will be practiced everyday at preschool and will carry over at home as they begin to care for their own belongings and enjoy their independence and abilities to do things on their own.

About my class
