Make a difference in the life of a child by supporting his/her education! As the 3rd to 8th grade humanities leader, I know reading is vital to our success. Teachers and scholars alike know that leaders are readers, so we have been putting a big emphasis on both learning to read and reading to learn. Scholars have been challenged to read 40 books in this first year of our new direction. Most of our scholars do not have books to read at home, so it is my goal to build a vast school library coupled with home libraries comprised of books our school can get donated for each scholar to take home. The hope is that scholars see that literacy doesn't just happen at school, it is everywhere.
