All our students take AP courses and choose one of two career pathway interests: Cyber Forensics or Engineering. In their senior year they present a Capstone Project to their peers, teachers and community members. When we began the Capstone Project we realized that our young people needed stronger skills in delivering presentations: oral delivery, creation of written documents and visual presentations all needed stronger support starting in ninth grade. To address this need we provided additional reading, writing and speech classes in the freshman and sophomore year. Additionally our art program has enhanced our students' design proficiency and has added photography to its offerings. As these students rise into their junior and senior years we would like to provide them with the technology to make the most of these necessary skills and help them demonstrate their conceptions and creations around engineering and cyber forensic practices. Projects that have been presented in the past few years include developing and launching a rocket, designing a pedal generator from a discarded bicycle, and performing a forensic analysis of footprints through casting and digital mapping. Imagine how we can "up our game" as our young people record their underwater robotics trials, experiment with a "night light vest" for evening bicycling, and document the steps in configuring a credit card sized computer.
