Being that most of my lesson is displayed on the board, having a clear and working projector will help my students to keep track of where we are at with the lesson and to help them to see the steps we need to take to solve the problems. The geometric shapes will help my students to have hand-held materials for them to be able to understand how volume and surface area is measured. They will be able to fill up the shapes with sand or water and understand what volume really is measuring with different 3 dimensional shapes. My students are required to keep there math work in their binder the whole year. So when we do special projects and create our own reference sheets it would be great to be able to laminate them so that by the end of the year they can keep them for the next year. This will help maximize their retention and they will be more willing to keep their work because it won’t wither away.
