Research has shown that with flexible seating plans, grades go up. Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. The new tables, stools, and seat cushions will offer my students a wide variety of options, that surely will promote academic growth. The white board table will help eliminate boring pencil/paper tasks and the other tables will help to group students in collaborative discussions all while offering several different seating options! During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating.
