Our students are in a time where technology rules. Our classroom has few ways for our students to explore the technological world. We are limited to worksheets and textbook currently. We are a brand new program helping students with behavior issues learn to succeed in society. Technology will enable them to see a bigger perspective of life in the world. I specifically use computer based programs for learning such as IReady, Education.com, Starfall, and Reflex Math. I also wish to do project based learning where research would be imperative. We currently ask other teachers to borrow their technology and do not always have access. It would be an amazing gift to be able to keep a set of laptops in our room for our students to use as needed daily instead of when they are not being used by another class. These laptops will be rotated between our students during lessons to expand their knowledge base and expose them to technology in the classroom.
