Part of the changing needs of students in the classroom involves flexible and more adaptive seating alternatives. By allowing students to choose chairs that allow for more physical movement and the use of their core muscles, it allows them a greater opportunity to focus. With more focused time on task we can expect higher achievement and/or academic growth. Wobble chairs can also improve posture. It encourages active sitting and allows one’s knees , hips and back to find comfortable and ever changing positions. Many students thrive on significant sensory experiences. It provides an outlet for them and all high energy children. It provides the outlet for them to move without distracting other students. I have chosen Kore™ Wobble Chairs because they increase secondary focus. Continuous movement while sitting relaxes the right side of the brain, leading to better focus.
