There are many types of math manipulatives I am requesting in this math kit. The fraction circles will allow students to see how to answer questions about radius and degrees by allowing them to do themselves after instruction. The graph paper will allow for individual creativity by seeing how to draw shapes using coordinate points on their own graph. This is truly learning by doing. The integer rules allows students to learn in their own hands the difference between positive and negative numbers. It also allows them to work out addition and subtraction of integers using this tool. Order of operations is a very important 6th grade skill. By using flash cards the students can place a mental picture in their minds of how to solve these problems. Fraction tiles again, allows for individual hands on learning which when added to direct instruction deepens the learning of any math concept. I have a class of students that learn at o slower pace. They try really hard and are able to understand concepts when they can touch and feel them because it adds yet another way for children to receive learning concepts
