Flexible and comfortable seating options will allow my students a source of output for their wiggles! With the limited movement due to COVID and CDC school guidelines, I am looking for additional seating options outside of the typical hard, blue classroom chairs. Students are more engaged in their work and less disruptive when they have the opportunity to make choices that work best for them! This freedom and comfort in seating choice fosters self-awareness, independence, and good decision making. Additionally, many of the organizational items on our list will help with distanced work spaces to keep our students and staff safe. Pencil trays, and reusable mesh bags will be used for individual students returning to school as a means to store differentiated materials and supplies. The large timer will act as a visual reminder for students who may struggle with time management and completing tasks. Blocks and manipulatives are reliable, concrete elements needed in learning new concepts.
