Every summer, I ask prospective calculus students to do lots of practice with precalculus math. It is NOT very interesting for them, and I'm not sure it helps them remember those skills during the course itself. This summer, help me do it differently! I want to engage my students with this fantastic book so they can see what they will learn in an engaging and approachable way. I will ask them to read it in August and then come to school ready to discuss what they read. I intend to use the book and its historical perspective on math to help my students understand how calculus fits into math as a whole.
