The first year in school can set the stage for student success. I am looking for supplies and materials that create an engaging classroom, hands-on experiences, and variety of ways to learn in all content areas. In order to create those opportunities I need tactile letters, fine motor materials, building objects, and arts and crafts. I will use whiteboards for students to demonstrate their understanding in mathematics and practice handwriting. Pencil grips and fine motor practice with tweezers will help students strengthen handwriting by assisting how to hold a pencil. Building of sentences box gives students a hands-on way of learning how to create a sentence. Magnetic letters will help build letter recognition and forming words. I am a first year teacher that had minimal time and money to create the classroom environment I want to provide my students. I know these materials will allow my students to expand their creativity and knowledge. It will give them chances to connect to the information and build a solid foundation of learning. I hope to give them the best experience and watch them grow!
