In our community, our students do not have easy access to technology, or have the resources to access many tools that would make them be successful. Our communities’ internet access is limited, and many students do not have either computers and/or internet to complete online assignments. In trying to prepare my students for their future in a technological world, incorporating and having access to quality academic resources and technology is key. Our school currently only has 1 working laptop to share amongst 6 grade levels. While online resources are not the sole way to educate, having access to technology will allow students to have resources they need to be successful, increase differentiation of material, and prepare them for a world in which technology is an important part. Having Chromebooks in our classroom would be a great benefit to our students not only this year, but for years to come!
