Students are more deeply engaged in learning when they have more hands-on experiences in the classroom. I am hoping to add some supplies that will give them a concrete understanding of what they are learning. The magnetic letters will be used to teach phonemic awareness skills in which are vital when learning to read. Students can easily identify consonants and vowels with these letter sets. We will use the whiteboards and reusable plastic sheet protectors daily in centers and small group instruction. The oodles of card stock will be a great help when preparing all of the new content I will need as I move to 1st grade. These supplies will be a fun way to start a new school year! Having these resources will create an enhanced learning environment as well as a more engaging, hands-on learning experience.
