Kindergarten is an amazing time of growth. These little learners begin to see themselves as readers and writers. Kindergarteners begin to create their stories by drawing first. Then they add letters and eventually words. The dry erase pockets, crayons, alphabet stamps, sentence builder game, and the primary journals will give my little learners the structure they need to grow their writing brain! Writing and reading progress are connected. These little learners also need sight words games and leveled books to successfully grow their reading brains! Kindergarteners should be actively engaged with their curriculum. The Dive Into Shapes kits will help my students understand and create 3-D shapes which will help them understand the difference between 2-D and 3-D shapes. The magnet kit will help my students understand properties of objects and learn about magnetism. The tens frame game will help students to build their number sense. They will learn what the numerals really represent. Games and educational manipulatives help to make kindergarten a fun place to be while reaching higher standards at the same time. My goal is always to keep the Kindergarten in Kindergarten! It should be hands-on and fun as they are mastering the Kindergarten expectations!
