Preschool students with and without disabilities need to be able to access the learning environment as easily as possible. They need comfort and support from their environment in order to focus and learn. The materials I have requested will create a comfortable, safe and accessible learning environment for all of my preschool students no matter what their abilities may be. The diaper storage unit will keep their toileting items more sanitary by being up high and out of their cubbies and backpacks where the students tend to get into on a regular basis. This will eliminate germ spread and promote a healthier environment. It also allows for the changing process to go more smoothly and organized which leaves more time in the day for learning and helps keep the students more relaxed with the smooth transition! The many sensory items on the list help calm my students that have different disabilities so that they can focus in a safe and comfortable environment. The writing center and alphabet tubs promote reading and writing skills and again give my preschool students the opportunity to independently access reading and writing materials.
