Each day, my students visit academic centers that enhance their application of key skills that are learned throughout the day. During centers, students visit our classroom library to go on sight word hunts, they visit writing to enhance their writing skills and visit word work to practice building words that trickle into their writing and phonics instruction. The materials will allow for enhanced centers experiences for all of my students! The lap desks and chairs allow for flexible seating options in our library center, allowing students to take control of their learning and their reading. Additionally, the magnets and cookie sheets will enhance our work work center! By having letter magnets, letter blocks and phonics puzzles, students will be able to build word recognition and vocabulary, ultimately increasing their fluency and reading comprehension.
