To provide my students with the most authentic band experience, I need to be able to provide them with the appropriate instruments. Just about every piece of music written for concert band includes the bass drum. The bass drum, played in tandem with other percussion instruments provides the rhythmic engine to every piece we play. Without the bass drum, my students will not be able to develop the understanding of how all of the wind and percussion sounds are supposed to blend together. Having this bass concert drum, a bass drum stand, and a bass drum mallet will allow the percussion students to develop their skills at playing the big drum, and will help the students train their ear to the heavy whump that it makes to keep the music going
