“Everyone has a Food Story.” Food is a social aspect in life that connects people of all different socioeconomic status, gender, race, ethnicity, ability and age. Let's make a difference through our differences! Students will use literature to look into their own cultures and different cultures learning about how other's celebrate with food! Students will look into their own food stories by talking to their families about their own culture and how they use food to celebrate! Parents will be invited into the classroom on a volunteer basis to help cook and share their food stories and traditions with the rest of the class. We will use the materials that I have selected (crock pot, hot plates, plastic knives, cutting boards etc.) for students to cook with guidance from adults.
