Dyslexia intervention class has many components, which require the students to move effortlessly through their materials in a short amount of time. The students will use the binders and page protectors to help them stay organized. With the binders students will store important lessons, notes, and eventually a word bank that they will use in all of their classes. It is our dream that the students will travel with this binder from one grade to the next continuously building their word banks. Read aloud books such as "Thank You Mr. Faulkner" and "It's Called Dyslexia" will help students understand that they are not alone in their struggles with dyslexia. All too often students feel singled out or alone when they struggle to read, not knowing that so many successful, athletes, businessmen, and teachers dealt with their own struggles with dyslexia. No matter their age, all students enjoy being read to, so why not read a book that directly relates to them and the things they go through.
