My sixth graders are the most loving kids in the school. They need extra support and attention in order to make their first year in junior high a positive experience. Their dedication to the idea of community and belonging in the classroom can make anyone feel at home. Each one of them has a special impact in our classroom, but, without flexible seating, I am not meeting all of their individual needs. If my kids were able to have options for their seating such as the bean bag chairs, gaming chairs, Wobble Chairs, balance ball seats and other seating options, they would not have to worry about being so uncomfortable in their simple blue chairs. They would be excited to come into class and more comfortable as they work hard to become the great learners and leaders of tomorrow.
