My students are all diagnosed as special needs children. I teach the students that have learning disabilities too severe for them to be successful in an inclusion or general education classroom setting. Most of my students learn the best with a hands on visual approach. The items that I have chosen will help keep them engaged and learning. After Hurricane Harvey, my classroom lost a lot of teaching materials and my students lost over two months of educational time due to rebuilding. These items will keep them excited about learning. The file folder games will allow me to teach them by playing games with them in a small group setting. The Real-Working Cash Register will help to teach them money and real world skills that might better enable them to work after they graduate from school. The different DVDs give them a fun visual way to see and practice skills that we are working on. All of the things would greatly enhance and increase their interest in academic subjects that might lack without these materials.
