These materials I am hoping to receive will make a huge difference in the learning in my classroom. Each of these materials will enhance mathematical and scientific learning and thinking in my class by providing an opportunity for students to test ideas, observe and further drive curiosity and understanding. For example, having a class set of magnifiers will help facilitate looking at the bubbles in our root beer floats when we are learning about solids, liquids, and gases, or when we are observing the changes our gummy bears have gone through after being soaked in water for 24 hours, or when observing sand particles up close in an effort to find the rock they may have broken off from from erosion, or for observing our seeds as they begin to sprout, and the list goes on! These materials are going to provide opportunity for open-ended activities and these materials will encourage creativity through problem-solving and exploration. Ultimately, these materials provide students hands-on experiences to help build concepts and skills needed.
