My students want to start their very own business! Cuppa Joe a Go-Go. All of my students need moderate to severe support in learning social skills and independent living skills. Having a coffee cart project will help the students practice social and independent living skills and also make friends at school. The purpose of this project is to create a school-family-community partnership that promotes academic, social, and independent living skills for our students. The implementation of the coffee cart will allow our students to practice these skills in a natural setting that involves their school, families, and larger community. Students will practice social skills while interacting with customers of the coffee cart. They will also learn how to take money and give change. This project will address each student’s specific IEP goals, both academic and functional.
