Our classroom is very small. Half of the room is set up with tables that are used during our "lecture" times and the other half is our blacktop tables that we use for our actual labs. In this class, we use something called Manikens, which are miniature human bodies, about 2 feet tall. We build muscles, nerves, arteries, veins, and complete body systems on these Manikens. Our Manikens need a safe place to call home that keeps them off our tables and organized. An office shelf is the perfect thing for it. There are four sections of HBS, each class consisting of approximately 12 Manikens, resulting in 48 Manikens total. This starts to take up a lot of space and becomes disorganized, especially when each Maniken rests on a 4in x 4in base and stands 2 feet tall. Once my students start building more complex body systems on their Maniken child, their hard work needs to be preserved and protected. This shelf will ensure that each student has a safe place to store and display their hard work.
