In 5th Grade math class, we use the instructional curriculum program I-Ready at least twice a week! My classroom needs a class set of headphones so that EACH of these students has the opportunity to actually listen to their I-Ready lesson on the Chromebooks. Imagine a class of 25+ students, each listening to a different instructional math lesson at the same time... Would you consider this an environment conducive to learning? Take it from the teacher who hears all 25 of them going on at the same time...It is not! Some of my students have their own headphones and I always encourage them to use their headphones, but others do not have their own headphones. These students will either A) borrow a set of my dinosaur headphones *disclaimer: I only have 4 that work* or B) they listen to their lesson on the Chromebook with the volume turned up at an "acceptable" noise level. Neither of these options is​ "optimal" for my standards. These I-Ready lessons are important to the students overall growth and skill development in math class. I want to supply headphones for each student so that they can be as successful as possible in my classroom. Please consider donating, I can ensure you that these headphones will be put to good use on an almost DAILY basis.
