Young scholars are very capable of creating and problem solving given the right tools. Unfortunately, the block workstation is often under equipped . The reasons vary from lost items over the years without replenishing due to low funds. The jumbo bricks will be used for constructing buildings which can be tied into many themes in my Pre-Kindergarten classroom throughout the school year. The block people allow for understanding of cultural diversity, which is what Houston is known for. What better way to educate our young scholars about sensitivity to cultural differences among people beginning in Prekindergarten? Students need a safe place to learn and grow. The area rug can be used for this in the math/block workstation with the jumbo bricks and people. Since the rug's theme is animal habitats, it can be incorporated later in the science workstation. Well thought out activities in workstations provide many opportunities for hands on learning. All items requested will be happily used by my students. I can't wait to see the excitement on their little faces!
