I would like to create a classroom library of communication buttons and switches that non-verbal students with physical disabilities can use to communicate in the classroom and with their peers. When students cannot speak or participate vocally, they miss out on important interactions with peers, teachers, and community members. A classroom library of communication buttons/switches would allow us to try a variety of tools so that students can make progress, moving from simpler to more complex devices as they grow in their communication skills. The students would use these devices in order to participate in classroom discussions, academic activities, songs, and peer interactions.

About my class
