When teaching science, it is always necessary to conduct a lab so students have a teachable moment understanding the importance of research. This year, I am teaching Biology to my 8th grade Cambridge Class and really want to dive deep into the genetic pool. Students truly respect science when they see it in action. The AncestryDNA tests enable the students to identify what region of the world their ancestors are from. If students have a part in discovering their genetic history, when they mature, their respect for scientific research will only strengthen. As a science teacher, that is one of my main jobs. I encourage students to question life and how it works. Using these kits will enable them to answer a question they have, where am I from?!
