The shelf and numerous art books will make up a student-friendly Art Library to enrich art lessons throughout the year, to teach artist histories, and to provide a quiet nook that artists can read in if they finish a project early. The inclusion of this library in the art room will promote a love of reading in our kids and support their growth in literacy. The titles I have selected reflect my students' interests, community and experiences and tie into their art curriculum for the year. I truly believe that all teachers are literacy teachers - even in art class!
