I teach a Unified Physical Education class that partners students with and without disabilities. I have 34 students in the class and little equipment that is suitable for all of them. Several students have physical limitations and without properly modified equipment, the gym can be a dangerous place. Over-sized, light weight, and audible balls will help ensure the safety of the students as well as an increase in participation. Students with limited mobility or low tone can more easily manipulate lighter balls and students that are visually impaired can use the audible balls to participate. Having modified equipment will allow more students to enjoy participating in physical activity.
