My students seek to learn about modern day slavery, in particular, sex-trafficking, and will be reading different literature throughout the year around it. My advisory agreed that sex-trafficking and other forms of modern slavery are important for young women to be educated about, so that they know how to best combat it. Currently, they are discussing what organizations they can best collaborate with. My girls will also complete a capstone project at the end of the year where they seek to educate others on this tragedy and how to best respond to it. The materials that are being requested will aid more than the fifteen girls as they are eager to share with others what they will learn and experience throughout the year and beyond.
