I currently have students whose only access to books is through our school library. Students get 20 minutes one day a week to find something that sparks their interest. With little access to bestsellers, I would like to enhance my classroom library with newer books that my students would actually want to read throughout the year. In 4th grade we have a unit on informational writing which we write biographies for. The goal is for students to write about someone who interests them. I want to purchase a lot of "Who Was" books for students to look through, so when we get around to this later in the year they have someone in mind they are interested in. Another plus is they would have a hard copy of the book that they can use in the classroom as a reference.
