For our intermediate students, the ability to use a digital device such as a Chromebook opens up a world of reading to even the most unmotivated reader. Most of our students lost their personal books in the hurricane so they can't bring books from home to school to read. The Chromebooks allow our students the capability to read books while their teachers conduct work stations and small group reading. The most unmotivated reader becomes motivated when they know a digital device can be used to read a text. During our free time to read, we can use the Chromebooks to partner read a text with headphones connected to the device. Many of our lower leveled readers enjoy sitting with a partner and reading together or listening to the book read by a great reader.
