A local restaurant took the initiate to recycle their used crayons by donating them for our children to use for various projects. I decided to save the earth one recycled crayon at a time and turn them into creative valuable art to display throughout our halls. The students will use the Cricut machine to create their name or shape to place on the canvas. They will then grate the various color crayons onto their canvas and melt with a hairdryer. Once the wax has cooled, they will remove their name or shape to give them their final masterpiece! Each piece of art will displayed in our hallways for all to see!! This is a great way for students to see the recycling of a discarded item to be used in a creative way, and to have one less item in our local dump.
