The opportunity for my students to increase their technology skills and 21st century skills by learning how to use and record on the green screen is a classroom goal of mine. Kids are eager to challenge themselves in the technology world and recordinging and using a green screen is the perfect way to do just that! The reason I chose such a variety of tools is so that each child will have the opportunity to be creative with the green screen tools. The large green screen will be used in the corner of our room, where we hope to change an area into a "Recording area". The stand will hold the iPad for ease in recording and reduce the amount of shakiness that occurs when kids are recording their classmates. The microphones will all be used for recording to reduce the amount of background noise that occurs when recording in and around the room. The small trifold posters are for small green screen recording, with small puppets that they will create and manipulate, that is also why I have green gloves for them to use as well. Imagine kids learning how to reenact superman flying through the air; using the green cape, or taking their animal project and turning it into a real life zoo for the background. Students can "Travel the world" by researching a country and displaying it on the background and become a travel agent and speak about the benefits of the country. The opportunity to increase speaking and listening skills are so important at any age, we want to give them this opportunity!
