My students are really enthusiastic STEM learners. As a new teacher, I know that it is important to ensure that they foster and maintain their excitement for learning. With Theme & Main Idea Finding Evidence Kits, students will be put in small groups on a daily basis to develop their skills in reading comprehension, theme, main idea and finding evidence in text. Are You Ready for 5th Grade will help even the most reluctant learner become excited and motivated to learn due to the engaging format. This game allows students to become game show contestants. Students will have so much fun with this game they will not realize they are developing skills in foundational reading, reading comprehension, language and writing. Nonfiction Comprehension Quickie Cards are high interest activity cards that will be used daily in whole and small groups to help students build nonfiction comprehension. Each card features brief yet engaging text with review questions. Talk about Text Comprehension Center will get students talking about the text they read. These cards feature both fiction and nonfiction prompts which will help facilitate students to respond in depth to the cards' prompt to demonstrate their understanding, recall information, explain their thinking and critique the text. As a teacher I know that it is vital to help students find fun and interesting activities that will help them reach their academic goals. I believe these materials will help my students have fun and learn at the same time.
