In music class we used to play percussion instruments, such as tambourines, drums, and maracas to keep the beat and learn to read rhythms. When we listened to music selections, we moved and danced with colorful scarfs. Due to COVID, we are now unable to share materials. Some children have brought homemade instruments made of water bottles filled with beads, and wooden sticks for mallets on a desk. However, most parents are busy working more than one job, and don't have the time or resources to help their child make a bag of instruments. I would like to provide a plastic bag with at least two items for each child, so no one feels left out. We are filling our bags with something to shake, something to scrape, something to tap, and a scarf for movement and dancing. We would love and appreciate any help we could get.
