Our world is changing and we have to prepare our kids for it. They have to learn to be kind, collaborate, and persevere. We would be so thankful if you could help us make flexible seating a reality in our room. Research shows flexible seating increases student engagement which would impact student success. I want my students to be engaged and take ownership in their learning. We need tables, chairs, and a futon for students to sit and collaborate at every day. Students will read, discuss, and analyze a variety of texts. They will develop more reading stamina and become deeper thinkers. This creates our world changers. Learning will be authentic and real world. Students should never want to leave reading class and always remember the lessons they learned there. I hope they take with them both the academic lessons and the life skills learned.
