Masks are intriguing, mysterious, adventurous and FUN! My students will look at examples of masks from many cultures. Using plaster strips, feathers, glitter, beads, paint and found objects, my students will experience the excitement of making their own masks. As an Intermediate school of 7th through 12th graders, we are preparing our students for Advanced Placement classes. One of our goals is to have a 3-D Advanced Placement Art class. This project will prepares the young artists to construct art. Many students have a tendency to think of art as 2-D. We want to help them to expand their minds! We need glitter, feathers, varnish and other supplies so that students can create 3-D art.
