My 2nd grade students are a wonderful group. They are all eager to learn. Sadly they have not had good learning experiences until now. They attend the charter school in hopes that we can pick up where the public schools have failed them. I am in need of manipulatives to teach my students to read because they cannot. They cannot even sound out words yet. I am faced with the challenge to try to get them up to grade level this year.
