I truly believe that a comfortable and safe environment can make all the difference in a child's learning. I want to provide flexible seating for my students, as well as general comfortable decor/organization to make sure the students feel safe and welcomed into my classroom. The bean bag chairs and pillows, will allow students to have more autonomy in their learning. Flexible seating allows children to choose where they work, and with whom. It also allows them to stay calm, focused, and productive on whatever task they are working on. The flexible seating, as well as the classroom decor, will build a community in the classroom, and facilitate collaboration. I will use the throw pillows, and rugs to accomplish this. The bulletin board borders and paper will help me create different bulletin boards that will help track their progress, as well as provide words of encouragement and safety to the students.
