In our Title I school, I am working on building a classroom library for my students. A goal for my kids this year is to become proficient sustained readers. We are completing monthly book reports in which a student is able to choose their own book from our library. They read it, create a project based on it, and then review it for the class. This helps them figure out what they enjoy reading, while hearing and exploring other types of books. This classroom library will help students become more engaged readers and completing the book reports and presenting them, will help with their public speaking skills as well!
